A synthetic analogue of the first 29 residues of growth-hormone-releasing hormone, carrying four substitutions — D-alanine at 2, glutamine at 8, alanine at 15 and leucine at 27 — each of which blocks a known site of enzymatic cleavage. It binds the GHRH receptor. A separate version carrying a maleimidopropionic acid group that binds albumin is a different substance, and the two are frequently sold under the same name.
