Tesamorelin has 18 trials and an approval. CJC-1295 has one trial
On this page
Tesamorelin has an FDA-approved product, 18 verified registered trials, and 951 participants across them.
CJC-1295 has one verified registered trial with 120 participants and no approved product.
CJC-1295 nonetheless draws 10,462 monthly Wikipedia views against tesamorelin's 8,990.
Both act on the same receptor pathway, which is why they are grouped together — and why the grouping is misleading about their evidence.
This page compares the public evidence and regulatory record of two GHRH analogues. It is not a recommendation and contains no dose, schedule or route.
The two records
Tesamorelin carries 18 registered trials verified as administering it, with 951 participants in total, a furthest phase of 4, and an FDA-approved product. CJC-1295 carries one trial with 120 participants and no approval.123
Tesamorelin's participant total is modest by GLP-1 standards, and that is worth noting rather than glossing. Nine hundred and fifty-one people is a real evidence base and a small one; the difference from CJC-1295 is that it exists at all and was reviewed.1
The third one complicates the picture
Sermorelin is also a GHRH analogue, is also FDA-approved, and has zero registered trials — because its 1990 approval predates mandatory registration. So within one small family this site holds a compound with approval and trials, one with approval and no trials, and one with neither.3
Any rule of thumb that treats the family as a unit gets at least two of the three wrong.123
Why the unapproved one is better known
CJC-1295 is sold widely in the research-chemical and wellness-clinic channels, and it is discussed heavily in forums. Tesamorelin is a prescription product for a specific clinical indication, which generates far less consumer conversation.2
The readership figures follow that exactly: 10,462 monthly views for the compound with one trial, 8,990 for the one with eighteen and an approval.124
Common questions
Is CJC-1295 with DAC a different compound?
It is a modified version designed to last longer in the body. Modifications change behaviour, so evidence about one form does not automatically describe the other.
Why does tesamorelin have so few participants?
Its approved indication is narrow, and narrow indications need smaller programmes. Trial size follows the size of the population being studied.
Does one trial mean CJC-1295 is unstudied?
Not unstudied — barely studied. One phase 2 trial of 120 people establishes very little, and nothing at all about longer-term effects.
