Oxytocin

A cyclic nonapeptide closed by a disulfide bridge between the cysteines at positions 1 and 6, leaving a three-residue tail. It binds the oxytocin receptor. It differs from vasopressin at only two of nine positions, which is why the two peptides show measurable cross-reactivity at each other's receptors.
