On raw volume this is not a contest. It is also, for most readers, the wrong comparison to make.¹²

What the 648 trials were about

Oxytocin is a long-established obstetric medicine, and the great majority of that trial record concerns labour and the period around childbirth. Its FDA approvals sit in that setting.¹³

The uses it is marketed for in the wellness channel — mood, bonding, social effects — are a different question, studied in a much smaller subset of that literature. The headline count does not distinguish between the two, and neither does marketing that quotes it.¹

Kisspeptin-10's small but real record

Five trials with 59 participants is a thin base, and it reached phase 3, which is further than most unapproved compounds here manage. It is a genuine early-stage record rather than an absence.²

Its readership figure is unavailable, which is itself telling — the compound is studied more than it is discussed, the opposite of the usual pattern on this site.²

How to use a trial count properly

Treat it as a ceiling rather than an answer. A count of 648 means at most 648 trials could be relevant to your question; a count of 5 means at most 5 can be. Narrowing from the ceiling to the relevant subset is a separate search, and the registry supports it.¹²
