Peptide reconstitution: what to verify before you calculate

This is a guide to the numbers behind a reconstitution calculation—not a procedure for preparing or injecting a product.

What the calculator actually does

A reconstitution calculator has a narrow job: divide an amount by a liquid volume to produce a concentration, then divide a user-entered target amount by that concentration to produce a draw volume. PepRack can also express that volume on the U-100 scale selected in the tool.

That arithmetic does not establish that the product, liquid, target amount, device, or route is appropriate. A mathematically consistent result can still be wrong for the real-world situation when an input is wrong or the source instruction does not apply.

Values to verify before entering anything

  • The amount printed on the exact vial or pharmacy label, including whether it is expressed in mg or mcg.
  • The liquid volume specified by the applicable product label, pharmacy, or clinician—not a volume chosen by the calculator.
  • The target amount supplied by the user from an authoritative instruction. PepRack never creates this value.
  • The exact syringe or measuring device scale. A U-100 output must not be transferred to a differently scaled device.

Keep the units attached

Treat mg, mcg, mL, and syringe markings as part of each number. Convert the amount units before dividing, and keep the unrounded mL result available even when a visual mark is shown.

If the label, prescription, or device is unclear, stop at the ambiguity. A clinician or pharmacist who can inspect the exact materials is the right person to resolve it; the tool cannot infer a missing unit.

A calculation check, not a preparation checklist

  • Re-read every source value from the original label or instruction.
  • Confirm that the calculator input and output units match those sources.
  • Recalculate independently or ask a qualified professional to check the arithmetic when the result will inform a health decision.
  • Do not treat the syringe graphic as a substitute for the device manufacturer’s markings or instructions.

Evidence review status

The following claims are intentionally omitted until an editor verifies them against current primary or authoritative sources:

  • Product-specific diluent, compatibility, storage, sterility, stability, and handling claims.
  • Any physical preparation or injection procedure, which must come from authoritative labeling or a qualified professional.
  • Any compound-specific dose, schedule, concentration, or route.

Frequently asked questions

Does PepRack tell me how much liquid to add?
Only as arithmetic from values you choose in the reverse calculator. It does not decide which liquid or volume is appropriate for a product. Use the applicable label and a clinician or pharmacist for that decision.
Does a correct calculation mean a product is ready to use?
No. The calculation checks a relationship between entered numbers. It does not verify identity, quality, sterility, compatibility, storage, device selection, or clinical appropriateness.
What should I do when the label and my notes disagree?
Do not guess. Keep the conflicting values out of the calculator and ask the dispensing pharmacy or a licensed clinician to resolve the discrepancy.
